Erin O?Connor turns designer

7th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Erin O?Connor has created her first capsule clothing line in collaboration with stylist Kate Halfpenny.

The model is best known for her campaigns with the British fashion retailer Marks & Spencer, and has also graced the covers of fashion bibles such as Vogue.

Erin has now turned her talents to designing, and has created a range called She Died Of Beauty with Kate. The line features five T-shirts and two bags.

The pair wanted to come up with a unique name for their brand and thought She Died of Beauty would make people laugh.

"It's a teasing yet affectionate tickle at the fashion industry we continue to love, honour and serve," the pair revealed in an interview with vogue.co.uk.

Each item in the collection has been made using ethically and organically sourced materials, and also has a bold message. Erin and Kate drew inspiration from the ?exaggerated? nature of fashion when creating the pieces.

"The very visual nature of fashion is to manipulate and exaggerate almost everything. We loved the idea of twisting a polite sentiment into a naughty yet, frivolously funny statement that we hope will appeal to all," they explained.

To promote the range, Erin can be seen in a campaign shot wearing a T-shirt from the collection with the label?s name emblazoned across the front.

The collection is currently on sale at www.shediedofbeauty.co.uk. T-shirts cost £40 and the cotton bags cost £20. (C) Cover Media
