Kim Kardashian happy to escape' LA

2nd November 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Kardashian is relieved to "escape" to Australia.

The reality TV star is in the country to promote her new handbag line. She announced her divorce from Kris Humphries on Monday and is pleased to be away from the attention in the US.

"I mean, you know, it's a tough situation. I think I'm trying to do the best I can, and it's actually a bit of an escape to come here," Kim said during a videotaped radio interview for the Kyle and Jackie O show.

Kim has vehemently denied that the wedding was a publicity stunt.

The 31-year-old claims she firmly believes in love and would never marry for money.

"I don't think I'm ready to go into, you know, the details of what went on in my marriage," she explained. "I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for money, for anything like that. I think that's really ridiculous that I have to even defend that.

"I guess, you know, that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show," she added.

Kim has flown to Australia with her younger sister Khlo and her husband Lamar Odom.

Khlo has been offering moral support to Kim and insists she has made the right decision.

"The thing I've always admired about Kim, and I know right now it's of course too soon, but I've always admired her view on life and love," said Khlo. "I don't have that, I never had that view. So I've always loved that about Kim. It makes her such a real person and I never want that to go away."

However, US Weekly reports that Kim knew her marriage with Kris was doomed even before their wedding day. The pair tied the knot on August 20 this year in a ceremony that reportedly cost $10 million.

Friends say that Kim was having doubts early on in the relationship.

"She knew it was wrong before they were even married," a source told the publication. "They were not seeing eye to eye and it felt wrong. She was calling friends, telling them she didn't want to do it."

Another pal revealed that Kim felt pressured by the public nature of the ceremony. The 31-year-old allegedly felt that she couldn't back out.

"She felt like she couldn't turn back," said the second source. "She got in over her head. She made a big mistake and she knows it." (C) Cover Media
