Kollywood: Strike over, controversy continues

11th April 2012

In a sudden development, the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) on Tuesday decided to withdraw its indefinite strike, which has crippled the whole industry for nearly a week.

After talks with Tamil Nadu Labour Minister Chellapandian, which was attended by office bearers of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) as well, it was decided to end the strike and to take part in the shootings.

It was also decided to find a solution to the wage revision issue by holding talks in a peaceful way, without opting for strike.

Meanwhile, a set of office bearers in the Producers Council are unhappy with TFPC president S A Chandrasekaran taking part in the peace talks in an unilateral way. As many as 20 of them have tendered resignations.
