Mani Ratnam's next on mid-sea

19th August 2011

After Raavanan, which was shot extensively in deep jungles, director Mani Ratnam is ready to commence his next. If sources are to be believed, it is a romantic entertainer starring newcomers to be shot mainly in mid-sea.

The movie would have script by writer Jayamohan and Mani Ratnam has roped in cinematographer and fellow director Rajiv Menon to shoot it.

The story is set among the fisher folk of southern Tamilnadu. 'The lead roles will be played by new faces. The film will have a panoramic vision and lots of aerial shots,' said a source.

Menon has worked with Mani on Bombay (1995) and Guru (2007). Mani is keen to finish shooting the movie on a tight schedule by November, said sources.
'It is a big film and will require a lot of expertise since it will be shot in coastal areas and also in the sea,' they added.
