A ban by the Karnataka Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) for her alleged affair with actor Darshan has not affected Nikita Thukral. For, calling the KFPA’s decision a big joke, several producers are looking to cast the actor in their forthcoming projects.
Three days ago, the industry imposed a three-year-ban on Nikita for allegedly having an affair with star actor Darshan, who is currently behind bars for brutally assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi.
The diktat has been openly denounced by leading actors such as Puneet Rajkumar, Shivarajkumar and Ramesh Aravind, including national award winning actress Tara, who termed the ban as 'primitive'.
Leading producer and actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, son of the legendary thespian Rajkumar, warned the KFPA against pursuing the ban.
AMR Ramesh, the producer and director of the under production Vana Yuddham, is interested in offering Nikita the role of a journalist in his Tamil-Kannada bilingual. He says, "I really don’t care about the ban. If Nikita is willing to take up the role, I will defy the association and sign her up for the film."
Director-producer Raveendra also wants Nikita to be a part of his next film, Kettavanu. Producer Manju too had voiced his willingness to cast the actress in a future project.
