Noel Gallagher denies sibling inspiration

20th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Noel Gallagher insists his new single, The Death of You and Me, isn't about his feud with brother Liam.

The former Oasis star left the band following a bitter argument with his sibling during their world tour in 2009. Liam and the remaining members formed new group Beady Eye, who released their debut album earlier this year. Noel's new record High Flying Birds is due out in October, with the first single hitting stores next month.

However, he was quick to quash suggestions that the single is about his brother.

"The saying is that if you don't leave a place it will be the death of you. The song is about people escaping the surroundings they are in, it's not about me and Liam," Noel is quoted as saying by The Telegraph.

Noel recently admitted he was jealous of the positive reviews that followed Beady Eye's debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding, conceding that it was better received than Oasis' latter records. (C) Cover Media
