If there was any character in Thillu Mullu which was equally popular to that of Rajinikanth, it was the one played by Thengai Srinivasan.

Now that the film is set to be remade with Mirch Shiva replacing the Superstar, a hunt was on for the rest of the cast and crew.

The latest update is that director Badri, of Veerappu fame, has finalised Prakash Raj to play the role made memorable by Thengai Srinivasan. Also, he has roped in Kovai Sarala to repeat the magic of Sowcar Janaki.

"But an actress has not yet been finalised. Once it is done, the film will hit the floors and will be completed in one go," say sources. 

To be produced by Vendhar Movies, the Thillu Mullu remake will hit the screens by the end of this year.
