A wave of shock ran through the tinsel town and the political world, when Superstar Rajini met Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister and DMK president M. Karunanidhi on Saturday.

Superstar Rajini met Karunanidhi at his Gopalapuram residence in Chennai, in the presence of his wife Dayalu Ammal and his son and former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin. Reportedly, the meeting lasted for more than 30 minutes.

All eyebrows went up after hearing the news; for many people suspected that the Superstar has plans of entering politics.

But it is Rajinikanth we are talking about; the star had a valid reason for such an unexpected meet, 'It was just a courtesy call. I was out of town on Karunanidhi's birthday (June 3). So I could not greet him in person. Now that I am back in Chennai, I chose to call on him to convey my wishes.

Tiniest of movements create such major reactions; guess that’s the cost of being called a Superstar!
