Vijay's much awaited 'Thuppakki' has a value addition. The film directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu will feature actor-politician R. Sarath Kumar, who is the president of South Indian Film Artistes Association, in a crucial role.

According to sources, there was a powerful role in the movie for which Sarath has been roped in. 'Vijay and Murugadoss are happy to have Sarath on board and they hope that the presence of Sarath will help the movie a lot,' they add.

Kajal Agarwal plays the heroine in 'Thuppakki', which is an action adventure. Sources say the film features Vijay in the role of an honest police officer, who is hailed as an encounter specialist. Music is by Harris Jayaraj.

'More than 70 per cent of the shooting is over and plans are on to have the audio launch function in June. The film will hit the screens on August 15, that is, Independence Day,' conclude sources.
