(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Snoop Dogg says his songs appeal to every generation of music fans.
The hip-hop star has been in the industry since the early 90s and has managed to remain relevant throughout the years. Snoops eleventh studio album, Doggumentary, is due to be released later this month and he is confident it will attract a new wave of admirers.
He says his back catalogue, which includes hits such as Drop It Like Its Hot, Whats My Name and Gin and Juice, is still popular today because he makes music for all types of people.
"I have different songs for different generations and different genres," he explained to MTV News. "It doesn't bother me that I'm growing old, that the fans are growing old and my music is growing old, 'cause that's the whole purpose of doing it, is to grow old and let your music be here when you're gone."
The 39-year-old stars latest single is Wet and it has been claimed the track represents yet another new sound for Snoop. He realises he needs to experiment with different kinds of music in order to keep fans interested.
Snoop has explained his music shows off different aspects of his personality and insists he is happy to constantly challenge himself to produce groundbreaking records.
"I don't really think of it as reinventing myself, 'cause it's all within me. It's all who I am. It's more or less, faces of Snoop Dogg or characters of Snoop Dogg that's in this one spirit, he added. But at the same time, he's able to embellish different parts of the character to create this look, that style, that sound. But it's all the same. Because when I do it all at once, when I do a concept that has all the songs, I don't have enough time to change and act like this; it's still me." (C) Cover Media
