(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sofia Vergara stunned food shop owners by turning up to sell her boyfriend's new crunchy onion sandwich topping.
The stunning star's partner Nick Loeb has created Loeb's Onion Crunch, which is a crispy topping billed as perfect for salads and other snacks. He toured stores in New York in a bid to drum up interest last week, with Sofia only too happy to tag along.
"You could see them thinking, 'Something here doesn't make sense,'" he laughed to New York Daily News. "They were staring at me in my Onion Crunch shirt and hat and then at this glamorous celebrity and thinking, 'Is this a practical joke?'
"I think she was trying to pretend she wasn't with us."
Nick thinks his new product will be a hit as its low in carbohydrates. He expects people to enjoy covering their hot dogs in the snack, explaining he's been hoping to release it for a while.
It was actually Sofia who spurred him on as she was so bowled over when she first tasted them.
"Sofia tried them [and] went wild," he explained. "She inspired me."
Sofia is known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in American television show Modern Family, a part which earned her an Emmy Award nomination for best supporting comedy series actress this year. (C) Cover Media
