(Cover) - EN Movies - Stanley Tucci has landed a role in Gary Ross adaptation of The Hunger Games.

The American actor, who received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in 2009 film The Lovely Bones, has joined the cast of the highly-anticipated film.

He will portray the pivotal character of Caesar Flickerman in the movie, and will join current cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Wes Bentley.

The Hunger Games is based on the novel by Suzanne Collins. The story is set in a dystopian Capitol that forces its different districts to offer up teenagers as participants in a televised survival event.

Stanleys character, who is renowned for his flamboyant appearance and personality, hosts the Hunger Games and interviews the participants before appearing on TV.

The thriller is scheduled for a March 2012 release. (C) Cover Media
