(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Vanessa Hudgens has described her Sucker Punch character as being a badass, despite having blonde moments.

The 22-year-old American actress is best known for playing Gabriella Montez in popular US franchise High School Musical, although lately she has been venturing into edgier territory.

Vanessa plays Blondie in upcoming action fantasy Sucker Punch, which tells the story of a young girl who ends up being institutionalised by her evil stepfather before coming up with a plan to escape.

The talented star is particularly fond of her courageous character, but admits she can be ditzy sometimes.

Obviously shes not blonde. But she has her blonde moments in the brothel, laughed Vanessa in Empire. Then outside, shes a complete badass. Shes quite fearless.

The movie also stars stunning actresses Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Emily Browning and Jamie Chung, and is directed by Zach Snyder.

Zach agrees with Vanessas assessment of the part she portrays in the film.
