We would never remake 'Mughal-E-Azam', says Ajay

19th March 2013

Ajay Devgn's upcoming film 'Himmatwala' is a remake of 1983 movie 'Himmatwala' that starred Jeetendra and Sridevi in the lead roles.

Commenting on the remake, veteran actress Sridevi recently stated that there shouldn't be huge comparisons in both the films as her film was no 'Mughal-E-Azam'.

Reacting to these reports in a neutral manner, Ajay added to her statement stating that they wouldn't dare touch a 'classic' film like that ever.

"My team would never even try to attempt to remake a film like Mughal-E-Azam, because we could never try to beat a Mughal-E-Azam. Only films which have other ingredients can be picked to be remade. Otherwise there is no point in remaking any film. But one should never touch classics," said Ajay.

Directed by Sajid Khan, the film starring Tamannaah Bhatia and Ajay Devgn in the lead, is slated to release on March 29.
