Dr. Conrad Murray reportedly summoned the Los Angeles County Jail's chaplain to discuss his future.
The 58-year-old physician was sentenced to four years behind bars for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, who died two years ago from acute Propofol intoxication.
Murray has already filed his appeal and continues to plead his innocence, but while the matter goes through the legal system, he has to serve his time in jail which he is finding challenging.
An insider told Radar Online that Murray was sitting next to Celebrity Rehab alum, British producer/writer Duncan Roy, in the jail last week when he asked to speak to the chaplain.
"Tears welled up in his eyes as he sat across from the chaplain," the source said. "The chaplain told him, You need hope.'
"Conrad is reaching for whatever he can right now to get him through this."
Murray is being held away from the other prisoners for his own safety due to his "celebrity" status.
The former heart surgeon is planning on representing himself through the appeal process.
