(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Bono has insisted he is healthy despite rumours that he was rushed to hospital this weekend.

The 51-year-old singer in band U2 was reported to have been taken to hospital due to severe chest pains while vacationing in south of France. The story was widely reported but Bono has thoroughly denied the speculation and assures fans he is fit.

"Despite press stories to the contrary, Bono has not suffered a recent health scare," Bono's representatives told Reuters in a statement on Sunday. "Reports of his being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the south of France."

Bono visited Princess Grace hospital in Monaco this week for a routine check-up. He has no serious health problems and is in fine form physically.

Bono just completed a world tour with his band U2 which broke international ticket sales records. He is now vacationing before resuming charity work and recording more music. (C) Cover Media
