(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lily Allen has hit back at Kanye West after he wrote a controversial post about abortion on Twitter.

The 25-year-old British pop star and American rapper Kanye, 33, are both avid users of the social networking site, where they regularly update followers on their various musings.

Kanye has never been shy of controversy, and has used the site to vent some rather shocking views in the past, with his latest foul-mouthed rant accusing some women of having abortions to land financial settlements, calling them gold diggin for getting pregnant on purpose.

Lily responded to Kanyes post by telling the rapper she had never seen such a depressing and incongruous idea appear on Twitter.

@kanyewest never has a tweet put me in such a bad mood. This is wrong on so many levels (sic), wrote the songstress.

Lily has previously been a fan on Kanyes Twitter updates, and has defended him in the past despite many other stars criticising him. Last September he left a series of online rants referring to when he stormed the stage during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to protest against Taylor Swift's win for Best Female Video, despite the incident having been forgotten about by many.
