Director Vasantha Balan's 'Aravaan' is progressing at a quick pace. Unfortunately the shooting for this period flick came to halt recently. The huge sets put up for this period film at Thoranamalai, near Tenkasi, were blown away due to strong winds. This forced the unit to cancel the shoot for some days.
Says Vasanthabalan, "It being an open space, the winds were strong. So the sets were blown away by the winds, which reminded us of a cyclone. Luckily no one was injured as everyone was shifted to safe places."
As it would take some more time to re-erect the sets, Vasanthabalan is now shooting other scenes of the movie in and around Hogenekkal.
Produced by T Siva's Amma Creations, it is a period film based on S Venkatesan's novel Kaaval Kottam. Says Vasanthabalan, "It is not just a blind adaptation. Only a particular portion of Kaaval Kottam has been taken as inspiration."
Aadhi, Pasupathy play the lead roles. Both have expressed their delight being part of such a grand venture.
