11th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Orlando Bloom admits the thought of performing on stage terrifies him.

The 34-year-old British actor will appear in Romeo and Juliet at the Los Angeles Walt Disney Concert Hall this weekend.

Orlando and Dreamgirls actress, Anika Noni Rose, will play the two lead roles in a production which will also feature the Philharmonic orchestra. In a unique twist, the play will be shown in numerous theatres across the US, broadcasted and transmitted via rolling cameras. Orlando admits the thought of so many people watching unnerves him.

The prospect of performing live on stage while the cameras are rolling terrifies me. Im going to try not to think of it," he told The Hollywood Reporter.

However the star does admit his theatre experience will enable him to rediscover his love for acting. He credits the stage for allowing him the freedom to explore his limitations once again.

Its just a great opportunity to get creative and find myself on stage again, its been a few years. I think bringing music and theatre together in this way is really exciting. My mother used to take me to listen to music like this since I was a child and actually my uncle is a conductor in Paris, he confided. (C) Cover Media
