Tanuja Chandra's directorial come-back 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' starring Irrfan Khan and Parvathy opened with shocking low figures but has shown a decent growth over the weekend. It received decent reviews from critics and the numbers show movie has taken a slow start.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the opening box office figures, ''#QaribQaribSinglle witnesses 74.29% growth on Sat... Sun biz should be stronger, as per trending... Fri 1.75 cr, Sat 3.05 cr. Total: ₹ 4.80 cr. India biz."
The film released with Rajkummar Rao's 'Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana' and the horror flick 'The House Next Door'. Despite being a rom-com travel film, it didn't really do much at the box office weekend, though thankfully there was a steady increase in footfalls that lends some hope for better weekdays too.
'Qarib Qarib Singlle' did have a fair deal of audience footfall that resulted in 8.30 cr coming in. The film made 3.50 crores on its 1st Sunday. These box-office figures cannot be considered huge but then they are not bad either, as has been the case with so many other even bigger films this year. The film faces a tough competition from Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana and goes neck to neck with the box office business.
Directed by Tanuja Chandra, the film is witnessing a strong word-of-mouth creating a power-packed impact on the masses.
