Rajinikanth meets Jaya, donates Rs 10 lakh

Superstar Rajinikanth met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, to hand over a Rs 10-lakh cheque to the State government's Thane cyclone relief fund. The cyclone caused widespread damage to lives, property and roads in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts.

This is the first meeting between the numero uno actor of South Indian film industry and the Chief Minister after the former recovered from an illness which saw him admitted to a Singapore hospital for treatment last year.

Talking to journalists after the meeting at the Secretariat in Chennai, Rajini said that he would soon begin work on his next film "Kochadaiyaan", being directed by his daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth. 'I will start working soon,' he said,

Rajinikanth told reporters that the Chief Minister had enquired about his health. 'This is a courtesy call,' he said. Asked about his message to the fans, the 'Thalaivar' said, 'I will be back soon. Very soon, the shooting will start.'
