7aam Arivu attracts protest

2nd November 2011

The Hindu Makkal Katchi, known for conducting agitations against "controversial" movies and film personalities, has expressed stiff opposition to Suriya starrer 7aam Arivu for adopting double standards in promoting the cause of Tamil and Tamilians.

Secretary of the party Kannan has alleged that while the A R Murugadoss directed film is being promoted in Tamil Nadu as a crusader of Tamils and their culture, those behind the movie have agreed to cuts by Sri Lankan government.

"This film was released in the neighbouring country too last week, after the makers of 7aam Arivu agreed to censor cuts, where many dialogues that are pro-Tamil in nature have been deleted. This shows their double standards," said Kannan.

"The sad truth is that the 7aam Arivu team members are really not concerned about Tamils and their sole motive is to make money. They should take corrective measures, failing which we will be forced to decide our future course of action against them," he added.
